It started with a frustration that wouldn't leave.

In 2018, we started selling sleepwear in Abuja. We believed Nigerian women deserved beautiful, well-made intimates. What we found was that the market disagreed — not because the women didn’t want them, but because the sizing was wrong, the fabrics were synthetic, and nothing was made with their bodies in mind.

Who we are

We are a small team based in Abuja, obsessed with one thing: making organic, toxin-free intimates that actually fit Nigerian women's bodies. We do not believe in one-size-fits-most. We do not believe in synthetic fabrics dyed with chemicals that absorb into your skin overnight. We believe in better.

Every piece we make is OEKO-TEX certified — tested against over 100 harmful substances so you know exactly what you are not putting on your body. Our sizing runs from XS to 3XL, graded from real body measurement data so that a size 2XL at Unbare is not an afterthought.

Our customer

You are a woman who reads ingredient labels. Who buys organic where she can. Who has bought a beautiful piece of sleepwear from an international brand only to find it does not sit right on your hips, pulls at the bust, or pills after three washes.

You are who we made Unbare for. You should not have to choose between something that looks good and something that is actually good for you.

TIMELINE

2018 — The first attempt

Unbare launched its first collection — reselling sleepwear from Chinese manufacturers into Abuja. The demand was real. The product was not right. Sizing ran small and narrow. Nigerian women — with fuller hips, bigger busts, and rounder frames — were left out. We paused.

2024 — The research begins

We surveyed over 200 Nigerian women about their body measurements, their frustrations with current options, and what they actually wanted in sleepwear and underwear. The data told us exactly what we already suspected — the market had been guessing at their bodies for years.

Now — Unbare, relaunched

We are back — with certified organic fabric, inclusive sizing from XS to 3XL, and a clear conviction: what you wear to bed matters. Your skin absorbs what it touches for eight hours every night. It should be clean. It should be beautiful. It should fit.
